Located outside of Cashiers, North Carolina, Whitewater Falls is the highest waterfall east of the Rockies. Click here for more info. This image was taken on May 5, 2009. It was a VERY rainy day. I'm grateful for the assistance of my daughter Diana who held an umbrella over my tripod mounted camera making it possible for me to take these photographs.
This image is of a pair of Great Egret chicks and was taken approximately one week ago at the Saint Augustine Alligator Farm. This pair is approximately 3 weeks old.
To keep me active in reviewing my existing photo archive and inspire me to venture out and capture more images, on October 25, 2008, I began posting images to this blog.
Please feel free to post comments on the images here, or if you'd prefer, email them to me at ed@edstanton.com.
Also if you are interested in purchasing any of my photos, I have a web site atwww.edstanton.comwhich offers a gallery type viewing experience as well as the ability to purchase images in a wide variety of sizes and finishes.
Enjoy and thanks for visiting!

About Me
Ed Stanton
Born in Miami, Florida in 1958, I grew up influenced by the beauty of the tropics and diverse culture of South Florida.
My interest in photography began at age 11, when I was invited on an outing to the Everglades. On a cool winter day before dawn, I was loaned a 35mm Nikkormat camera and given brief instructions on its use. As the sun rose over the marsh, so did my excitement. Searching through the lens of this camera, my eyes were opened in a new way to the wonders of nature.
Photography has truly had a profound effect on my life, providing a connection to the world through which my spirit is uplifted and renewed.
Although I enjoy capturing a broad variety of subject matter, my real passion, set in motion so many years ago during that childhood trip to the Everglades, remains nature and wildlife photography.
